About Goodwood Theatre & Studios
Close to the heart of Adelaide, Goodwood Theatre & Studios is an inclusive, vibrant, and versatile premier performance venue that encourages artistic participation and supports the cultural diversity and future of South Australian Arts.
The Goodwood Theatre and Studios is a multi-purpose venue, and the ideal setting for a range of events including theatre, dance and music performances; art exhibitions, award nights and private functions; seminars, conferences and meetings.
Located on the Goodwood Road there is access to motels, shopping, restaurants and cafes. The Goodwood Theatre and Studios is also close to Adelaide’s city centre and easily accessible by tram, train, bus or bike. Patrons will enjoy a vibrant arts atmosphere while being hosted by a professional management team who are welcoming to local, state and international arts.

Director
Chris Iley is an established and respected industry professional with successful experience in Producing, Venue Management, Production Management, Event Management with a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management.
Chris is a motivated andskilled Venue Director With over 30 years’ experience and a passion for theatre, creating outdoor events and working with disadvantaged community groups.
SIMONE AVRAMIDIS
Artistic Director
Simone Avramidis is a recognised and valued professional Artist, Youth Arts Tutor, Theatre Maker, Director, Artistic Director & Program Manager with an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts, and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
She is a little pocket rocket with a strong passion for youth arts and is the Artistic Director of GRiT Studio Collective performance art company, empowering young people to make positive change.

We provide a high-quality multi-functioning space where audiences and artists feel safe, valued and part of an artistic community. We are home to numerous arts and community organisations.

Where is Goodwood Theatre located?166 Goodwood Road, Goodwood. It’s on the corner of Victoria Street, diagonally across from the Capri Cinema on the west side of the busy Goodwood Road.

How do I enter the venue if in a wheelchair or have mobility access needs?You can enter the venue through Victoria Lane on Victoria Street or alternatively use the wheelchair ramp on Victoria Street.

What if I ride my bike?Bike racks are located on Victoria Street near the wheelchair ramp.

Where can I park?Off-street parking is available around the area, but we do suggest leaving yourself plenty of time to secure your parking space.

How many seats do the theatre and studio theatre seat?The main theatre – 215 (pax) The studio theatre – 50 (pax)

Who can hire the venue?Anyone can hire the venue. We are an all-inclusive space that caters for a diverse mix of visual and performing artists, musicians, comedians, cabaret, burlesque and dancers.

Can we hire the venue for private or corporate functions?Yes. Contact us to chat through your requirements and how we can best support your unique event.

Can schools hire the venue for school performances?Yes, absolutely. We have many regular school hirers throughout the year.

How can I get a quote for hire?Complete a booking sheet available on our website and a quote will be sent upon request.

Is there a cancellation fee?Yes. A negotiated fee will apply as per the contractual agreement.

Is the projector in the main theatre included in the hire fee?No. An extra $140 per day for projector usage applies.

Is the technician included in the hire fee?No. An extra $50 per hour fee applies.

Do you have a kitchen facility, and can I self-cater my event?Yes. The kitchen facility services the main theatre hire and can be used for private functions for self-catering purposes or we can support catering needs if required.

Do you have a bar facility and are you allowed to bring our own alcohol?Yes. We have a fully licensed bar facility. No BYO alcohol allowed.
